Editorial policy
Authentic Film Review aims to be careful about what a film shows, what a source says, and what our writers infer. We value clarity, independence, and visible corrections over the appearance of certainty.
Accuracy and interpretation
Writers should support factual statements with suitable, checkable sources and identify interpretation as interpretation. We distinguish a film detail from a claim about how it was made or received, and avoid presenting an uncertain recollection as fact. Articles are edited for clarity and coherence; opinions remain opinions, not universal verdicts.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for the relevance and quality of the subject, not to promise favourable coverage. A collaboration does not buy an editorial conclusion, and we do not accept payment in exchange for an undisclosed recommendation or review.
Corrections
If a reader spots an error, they can contact us with the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests and, when a change is warranted, amend the text and make the correction clear in context. We do not silently alter a material factual error.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, supplied, or otherwise collaborative material is labelled clearly so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial work. Any partner relationship relevant to a piece is disclosed with that piece. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where applicable, they are identified as illustrations rather than documentary images.
A film is more than its plot
We look closely at the choices that make a film feel particular, while leaving room for readers to see it differently. Attention matters more here than a final verdict.
